International Campaign for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (Date: 26th November to 10th December)

"Under the International Campaign for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (Date: 26th November to 10th December), the Mahila Swaraj Manch organized an anti-violence campaign in a total of 40 villages, which included 30 villages in Sihor Taluka and 10 villages in Umrala Taluka. This campaign was held under the leadership of the Panchayat Women Member and the Village Women Protection Committee of each village, in which a total of 820 people participated enthusiastically, including 593 women, 90 young women, 90 adolescent girls, and 47 men."

Celebration of International Women's Human Rights Day

On December 22, 2025, the Mahila Swaraj Manch organized a celebration of Human Rights Day at the Sihor Town Hall. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including P.S.I. Shri N. K. Makwana of the Sihor Police Department; Sanjaybhai, Ajaybhai, and their team from the District Women and Child Development Department; Ashutoshbhai and Vijaybhai from the Bhavnagar Cyber Crime Cell; Social Security Officer Hetalben; Priyanka-ben, Counselor for the 181 Abhayam Women's Helpline; Kanizben, Coordinator of the Sakhi One Stop Center; Raiyaben Rathod, President of Mahila Swaraj Manch; Savitaben Rathod, former President; Secretary Familaben; and the entire Mahila Swaraj Manch team.

A total of 111 women participated in the program, including 60 members of the Women's Security Committee, 20 Panchayat members, 10 Education Committee members, 5 Balika Panchayat members, 1 Social Justice Committee member, and 15 leading women figures.


Key Highlights of the Program:

  • Campaign Review: The campaign activities carried out across 40 villages in the Sihor and Umrala talukas as part of the "International Fortnight for the Elimination of Violence Against Women" were reviewed and acknowledged.
  • Cyber Security Guidance: Officials provided guidance on cybercrimes, including message spoofing, WhatsApp fraud, and call-spoofing via fake video calls. Information regarding the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) was shared, along with details on other essential helplines like 181, 112, and 100.
  • Awareness & Education: Speeches were delivered on "Human Rights Day," covering the various forms of violence against women and the critical importance of education.
  • Creative Advocacy: A role-play (drama) was performed to highlight the violence women face due to the ill effects of alcohol.
  • Representation: The village Security Committee members submitted a formal petition (Avedanpatra) to the P.S.I.
  • Government Schemes: Detailed information was shared regarding various women-oriented government schemes, the "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" initiative, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.


Conclusion:

At the conclusion of the event, the District Women and Child Development Department distributed kits (bags) to the women. The program ended successfully with women taking a formal pledge for empowerment, followed by slogans, folk verses (duhas), and traditional Ras Garba.
